I am a first-year student at Indiana University Bloomington and a competitive swimmer. My experience as a student-athlete shaped the way I approached this course because both writing and swimming require discipline, focus, feedback, and revision. In the pool, improvement comes from repeating small details until they become stronger habits. In writing, I learned that the same idea applies. Stronger essays come from returning to an argument, rethinking structure, and making clearer choices for the reader.
This portfolio is organized around the major projects I completed in W131. Each project includes a revised piece of work and a reflection explaining what changed, why those changes mattered, and how feedback shaped my decisions. Together, these sections show my growth from close reading, to research, to creative remixing, to final reflection.
